Nicky understands it is not always easy to talk about problems which are difficult, painful or confusing. Sometimes people need to speak in confidence to a professional.
If you feel you have too much to cope with, it might be time for you to talk to someone in addition to a friend, family member or colleague.
As a Humanistic counsellor, I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. Establishing a good therapeutic relationship enables us to work together and explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours and to help you develop new insights and strategies. My approach is non-judgemental, patient and empathic.
I come from a nursing background and have significant experience as a mental health nurse and group therapist .
In 1995 I joined the staff at The Priory Hospital Roehampton and undertook further training as a counsellor, gaining BACP accreditation in 2006.
Additional training includes, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), EMDR (Eye movement desensitisation and reprogramming) and Person-Centred Art Therapy skills and a Post Graduate Diploma in Relational Supervision.
